It was the main orchestra among the ones the Canaro brothers directed, although, actually, they were all organised by Francisco. About how famous this orchestra was, we should say extremely famous. But what was most remarkable about this orchestra is the capacity its director had to make it work like a company. It is true that many great artists were part of it, and that “Pirincho” wrote many tangos, but it is also true that the “fever” for having an artistic and profitable business was awaken thanks to this orchestra. One of the greatest deeds of these orchestras was to make long tours around Europe and America. Besides, through all their career, Canaro and his orchestra gained a prestige that makes them internationally known. Nowadays, Canaro’s name is as famous in Argentina as it is in Japan. This is a reward any director would want, and Canaro has it.
