The temperamental image of Alfredo Gobbi is unmistakably reflected in the style of  his orchestra. In his musical conceptions there are evidently renewed old style reminiscences. Gobbi is expressing a tango style which is his own, joining the original creativity of the musical arranger, the expressiveness of his romantic violin and the inimitable colour of his orchestra. The director used for his orchestra a unique rhythmic marcation, preferably slow and accented. Instrumental passages, always exactly placed, allowed the soloists luster; and the way he oriented piano conduction is very similar to that of Orlando Goñi, his friend of shared bohemian hours. Gobbi’s important contribution to tango style, has “something” of his own and very difficult to describe. That “something” in Alfredo Gobbi’s tango can only be translated into the beautiful sounds of his orchestra. The importance he gave to soloist musicians allowed Gobbi to include in his orchestra artists such as César Zagnoli, Mario Demarco, Ernesto Romero, Bernardo Germino, Antonio Blanco, Edelmiro D´Amario, Cayetano Cámara, Alberto Garralda, Osvaldo Tarantino, Lalo Benítez, Juan José Fantín, Eduardo Rovira, Omar Sasone, Roberto Cicaré, Alcides Rossi, Osvaldo Monteleone, Eduardo Salgado, Luis Maggiolo, Tito Rodríguez and Osvaldo Piro.
