Laurenz has always been related to Julio De Caro’s style,
since with his cutting phrasings and his vigorous way of
expressing, he gave a character of its own to the interpretative
quality of De Caro’s group. Laurenz’s orchestra made its
debut in 1934, being an orchestra of bright sonority and
original effects, appealing harmonic elaboration and naturally
influenced by the “De Caro’s style”. Laurenz was always
very careful about the technical level of his collaborators, and
when Osvaldo Pugliese and José Nieso left the orchestra, he
replaced them by Armando Federico and Alfredo Gobbi,
respectively. In latter changes of musicians, some of the
artists that were part of Laurenz’s
orchestra were Héctor Grané, Miguel Jurado, Mauricio
Mise, Héctor Gentile, Pedro Terrón, Francisco Oréfice, Héctor
Presas, Alberto Celenza, Rolando Gavioli, Domingo Varela Conte,
Milo Dojman, Ángel Domínguez, Oscar Podestá and Carlos
Parodi.
