Héctor
Stamponi, one of our most inspired composers and pianists,
always divided his career between
accompanying important soloists and directing orchestras. He
directed a remarkable instrumental group which had a very short
life, although that doesn’t diminish the artistic merits it
showed. Maybe, its great quality was the result of an excellent
bandoneon section, a first violin that accentuated the high
notes and a contrabass player that balanced the sound of the
orchestra.
