Juan Bautista Deambroggio, also called “Bachicha”, was born in Buenos
Aires in 1890. He started his career playing at cafés near his house, and
ended up playing with Roberto Firpo and Roberto Goyeneche. He also
directed the Apolo Theatre orchestra. He
and Ernesto Bianco created and directed their orchestra, Bianco-Bachicha,
in Paris. Amongst all the songs he wrote, the most well known and
important is “Bandoneón arrabalero” with lyrics by Pascual Contursi.
